Your personalisation
Enter your required wording exactly as you would like it embroidered, up to a maximum of 18 letters. Please check spelling before ordering.
The more letters added, the smaller the text shall be, so that your wording fits within the personalisation panel. Shorter wording gives larger, clearer lettering. “YOUR TOWN” is an example and will be replaced with your wording.
The backpack and denim pictures show examples from the range for inspiration. This listing is for one Angola patch only; clothing, bags and other patches are not included.
Important Iron/Sew on fixing instructions
The iron-on adhesive is NOT a permanent fixing. Every patch MUST be secured with stitches for a permanent attachment, including after ironing. Ironing can hold the patch in position while you sew it.
How to apply
- Check the garment's care label first. Only iron onto fabric that can safely tolerate the required heat. If unsuitable or uncertain, sew the patch on without ironing. Do not iron onto leather, PVC, waterproof or coated fabrics, delicate fabrics or heat-sensitive synthetics.
- Use a clean, dry fabric surface and a firm, heat-resistant ironing surface. Switch steam off and empty any water if necessary.
- Set the iron to a dry cotton setting only if the fabric care label allows it. Briefly pre-warm the application area.
- Place the patch adhesive side down, cover with a clean cotton pressing cloth, and press firmly without sliding the iron for approximately 15–20 seconds. Do not let the iron touch the embroidery directly.
- If the fabric allows, turn the garment inside out and press from the reverse through a pressing cloth for a further 15–20 seconds. Avoid overheating and stop if the fabric shows any sign of damage.
- Allow everything to cool completely before checking the edges. Do not pull or move the patch while the adhesive is warm.
- Stitch securely around the patch edge before wearing or washing, even if the patch appears firmly bonded after ironing. You may also sew the patch on directly without using heat.
Why the adhesive may not hold
Bonding can fail because of insufficient heat, pressure or pressing time; steam or moisture; dirt, fabric softener or surface treatments; textured, stretchy, coated or unsuitable fabric; movement before cooling; and repeated washing, tumble drying, friction or flexing. Bag and backpack fabrics are often coated or heat-sensitive, so sewing is especially important.
Care
Once securely stitched, wash gently inside out in accordance with the garment care label. Avoid bleach, tumble drying and direct ironing over the patch. Check the stitches periodically and repair any loose areas.
